How it works

The procedure is performed by beaming a highly concentrated light into the follicles of hair in the desired area. The light is absorbed by the pigment in the follicles, destroying the hair and leaving behind smooth, silky feeling skin that remains undamaged. Laser hair removal is most useful for removing unwanted hair from the face, legs, arm/underarm, and bikini line, among other areas.

The laser operates on a pulsing frequency that allows many hairs to be treated at the same time. Many patients experience permanent hair loss after just 5-7 sessions, which means less time spent in the clinic and more time spent feeling beautiful and confident!

Before the procedure

Laser hair removal targets the root of the hair, so for best results we recommend limiting plucking, waxing, and electrolysis for several weeks before treatment. Sun exposure also makes laser hair removal less effective.

During the procedure

Your natural hair growth will be trimmed to a very short, uniform length just above the skin surface. The laser equipment will then be adjusted according to specifications depending on the patient’s hair and skin color, the thickness of the hair and where on the body the laser is being applied.

After the procedure

The treated area of your skin may look and feel a bit sunburned, but typically discomfort is minimal and easily treated with cool compresses and moisturizers.
